Frank Anthony Tony Iommi, geboren 1948 in Birmingham, ist der Sohn italienischer Einwanderer. Der Gitarrist war 1969 Gründungsmitglied der Rockband Black Sabbath.
Er entwickelte einen eigenständigen Gitarrenstil, u.a. bedingt durch das Fehlen zweier Fingerkuppen, die er durch Prothesen ersetzt. Iommi ist als einziger Musiker niemals bei Black Sabbath ausgestiegen. Zwischenzeitlich spielte er in der Band Heaven And Hell.
