Die PET SHOP BOYS sind mit einer neu kompilierten B-Seiten- und Bonustitel-Compilation zurück! "Format" zelebriert das überaus produktive, musikalische Schaffen des britischen Duos und vereint 38 B-Seiten und Bonustitel, die zwischen 1996 und 2009 veröffentlicht wurden. Das Album ist damit der Nachfolger des 1995 veröffentlichten Albums "Alternative", welches die B-Seiten der PET SHOP BOYS von 1985 bis 1994 umfasst. Alle Titel wurden soundtechnisch komplett überarbeitet und als besonderes Highlight enthält das Booklet ein Interview mit Neil Tennant und Chris Lowe, welches von Jon Savage geführt wurde, dem Autor von "England’s Dreaming" und "Teenage". Das außergewöhnliche und wie immer unverwechselbare Artwork-Design stammt erneut aus der Feder von Farrow, dem bekannten, britischen Grafikdesigner.
