Fats Waller gehörten zu den populärsten Jazzpianisten und Entertainern der ersten Hälfe des letzten Jahrhunderts. Der wegen seines stattlichen Leibesumfangs Fats genannte Jazzer hatte große Bedeutung in der Entwicklung des frühen Jazz der 20er Jahre zum Swing der 30er und 40er. Die Compilation bietet eine ganze Menge Songs an, die Fats Waller unsterblich gemacht haben.
