Shan Sa, geb. 1972 in Peking, wo sie mit 8 Jahren ihren ersten Gedichtband veröffentlicht und zum 'Aufsteigenden Stern Pekings' gekürt wird. Nach dem Massaker auf dem Tiananmen-Platz 1989 emigriert sie nach Paris, wo sie sich mit der Tochter des Malers Balthus anfreundet und in dessen Haus kalligraphiert, malt, schreibt.
