Initial faith was purely Catholic based upon the Church founded by the disciples of Christ, but when it became the Roman Catholic Church, the drawbacks started surfacing in the Church. So the believers thought of other groups and sects ,and they started leaving the Roman Catholic Church and formed other denominations. Behind all this was the human factor of pope at that time. Whatever I got from my study I have tried to write about the different denominations.

Rev. Dr. Salatiel Sidhu is an established writer and speaker. Three of his popular books, Christ and Christianity (in Punjabi), A Man from the Dusty Streets (A Journey Beyond Expectations), and Holidays and Rituals of Jews and Christians have been well appreciated by the readers. He has also been honored with a Dr. John C. Larry award by the William Carey award committee for his books and service to the Christian community. The present book, Christian Denominations (Their Faith and History), is the work of his labor over the past many years. He has explicitly explained the back ground and faith of these denominations, starting from the pure Catholic faith, reformation in the Roman Catholic Church, and splitting of the Roman Catholic Church into various denominations. He has thrown light even on the life of the founders. According to him different interpretations of the word of God led to the formation of different denominations. Since the number of denominations and sub denominations is more than four hundred, so it is not possible to discuss and write about all of them. He has written about more than twenty main line denominations. The language is simple and explicit. As he writes about the book, he takes pleasure in recommending this most informative and knowledgeable book to the readers.
