Music is sound vibrations that can and do affect us. But is all music good for us?
Throughout his many years of musical experience in various roles as performer, teacher, composer and recording artist, John Henry Sheridan has come to learn the vital importance of paying close attention to the music in our lives. He believes our everyday music choices can greatly impact our overall health and well-being.
This book speaks from extensive personal experience with music and an awareness that we are all vibrationally sensitive beings. It explores, from an intuitive perspective, why and how paying close attention to our music choices can be a worthy endeavor which can contribute value to both ourselves and society at large.
His unique blend of rock, acoustic, and folk music can be found on all major music streaming platforms. John Henry's music is continually evolving. While once his music was quite heavy and serious, it now regularly incorporates more light-hearted, energetic, and kid-friendly elements.
Among his diverse teaching experiences, his work with the non-profit organization Rock Asylum showcases inter-generational teamwork through the culmination of their educational song and video "American Revolution" (2013).
In his travels throughout the world, John Henry has had the privilege to perform on four continents. The life experience and wisdom that he has gained through his world travels are a significant part of what drives him to share his life story through music, writing and speaking.
John Henry has published 3 books for beginner guitarists which implement his Single String TAB Method: Single String Songs Vol.1, Single String Halloween Songs, Single String Exercise-Songs - Curious Creatures. These materials have begun to be taught and learned throughout the USA as well as abroad.
Informed by his practice of Nichiren Buddhism as a member of the lay Buddhist organization SGI, he seeks to bridge people together through dialogue and the arts with the aim of co-creating a mutually supportive environment for people to flourish in a peaceful world. One manifestation of this is his livestream talk show Music, Philosophy & More Podcast which is a dialogue show featuring diverse people aimed at celebrating our common humanity and the beauty of each human being's journey.
His interests lie in empowering people to follow their dreams,
