Glennis Browne has been a writer since she could hold a pencil. This year, finally completing the first of her stories to be published.After two decades of family ancestry research it became obvious circumstances and beliefs of the 1800s needed recording. Hopefully to clarify for herself and all future readers why the European population today believe what they do. And the reality of the experience of emigration for a real family.
From the beginning, the people within this her first published novel, came alive. Displaying their personalities. Their hurts, confusion or closed thinking. Some displayed hard hearts and inability to show affection. Others sought escape.
As a compassionate person, having love and concern for the hurting, due to her faith, Glennis set about working through issues - whether religious, social or governmental. Typical of the times. Exposing questionable dogma has brought understanding and healing - for the characters and hopefully for some readers.
Within her family there is evidence of the Wanderlust gene. Many generations of family- on both sides, seemingly effortlessly, moved between countries to begin new lives.
This realisation brought to mind the question why?
Why emigrate?
Was it a good decision?

Glennis lives on the Sunshine Coast of Queensland with her husband. Having followed their two wanderlust sons, wives and grandchildren. Moving from New Zealand ten years ago - to check out life across the ditch, with no regrets.
