Autoren-Porträt von Peter Ndiwa
PETER YIEKO NDIWA, was born and grew up in rural Kenya andstarted school in 1993. He has been a victim of most politically instigated
violence. Living in the rural area subjected him to hard upbringing due to
lack of access to basic services and poverty. Th is motivated him to write.
He started writing fi ction and poetry at an early age just for fun but since
2006, he started compiling them into book forms. In 2007 he enrolled in
Kenyatta University for Bachelor of Education Arts in English/Literature.
Since then he has been entering his poetry and fi ction in online writing
competitions in Kenya and around the world. In 2013, his poem “Killed
queuing for Bread” appeared in the longlist of Ghana Poetry Prize organized
by Poetry Foundation Ghana to be published in their maiden anthology
“Th e Prestige.” He currently teaches English/Literature in high school.
