was a beautiful Christmas tree. It was likely the most beautiful
Christmas tree that little Tommy had ever seen. Of course, he was
only 7, so he hadnt actually seen that many. This was the fi rst time that
little Tommy was old enough to help select the familys Christmas tree. The
weekend before Christmas, the family had piled into Grandpas old pickup
truck and driven to the tree farm outside of town.

Autoren-Porträt von Thomas M. Johnson, Margaret Weinand
About the authors:Margaret Weinand a resident of Quincy, Illinois, is married with 2 children and 3 grandchildren. Margaret and her husband Ron have an Antique Military Collectibles business and are well known in the Militaria collecting community. This is Margaret’s first effort at writing a Children’s book.
LTC (Ret) Thomas M. Johnson has been a serious collector for most of his life. During his childhood he was first a stamp collector and later a serious U.S. coin collector. During a four-year U.S. Army tour of duty in Munich, Germany during the early 1960’s, (then) Lieutenant Johnson discovered yet another very interesting hobby – the collecting of German edged weaponry. He has been an avid edged weapon collector ever since and has since authored a total of thirty-four reference books and numerous articles on the subject.
This publication represents his first collaboration on a children’s book. LTC Johnson is a native of Cleveland, Tennessee, and after retiring from the Army, presently resides in Fredericksburg, Virginia.
This collaboration came about after a cruise as the two couples sat at dinner. Col. Johnson mentioned that his next book was going to be about a little boy who didn’t want to get rid of his family’s Christmas tree. Margaret and Tom tossed ideas back and forth and, a couple months later, as they both recovered from surgeries, the book was born. Ideas were sent back and forth by email and after finding a great illustrator, Bill Beard, they both felt it was ready.
