Poaceae, the fourth largest family of flowering plants, include about 777 genera and probably 11,461 species with cosmopolitan distribution. The present study has been carried out with the objective to present a comprehensive floristic account of grasses of S.D College campus. Though the campus occupied with different types of vegetation the dominant group is grasses. The study of grasses has not an attracted work, the desired attention as the group is considered difficult for identification. Their spikelets being minute, the grasses require careful dissection for correct determination. Being a botanically neglected group, grasses need a separate detailed taxonomic investigation.
