João Abel L.M. Xavier is a Portuguese specialist in neuroradiology, certified by the European Society of Neuroradiology and the Portuguese College of Neuroradiology. He is current Director of the Department of Neuroradiology at the University Hospital Center of Porto, where he has been a staff member since 1994. He also is the Head Professor of Radiology at the University of Porto's Biomedical Sciences Institute and is visiting professor at the Master's degree in Medical Physics in the Faculty of Sciences, University of Porto. Dr. Xavier is a past president of the Portuguese College of Neuroradiology and a current member of the Portuguese Society of Neuroradiology's committee on interventional neuroradiology. He was president of the IIIrd and VIIIth congresses of the Portuguese Society of Neuroradiology (2005 and 2012) and of the Oporto Neuroradiology 50th Anniversary International Symposium (2016). His main interests are interventional neuroradiology, medical physics, and advanced MRI techniques. He regularly performs diagnostic and interventional procedures, including treatment of dural shunts, AVMs, carotid-cavernous fistulae and aneurysms, thrombectomy in ischemic stroke, and angioplasties.

Cristina Giesta Ramos is a Neuroradiologist specialist since 2008, after her residency in Neuroradiology at the Department of Neuroradiology of Hospital Geral de Santo António, Porto. During her residency, she did a period of six months as a visiting resident at the Department of Neuroradiology of Mayo Clinic, Rochester, Minnesota. She is a certified neuroradiologist by the European Society of Neuroradiology and by the Portuguese College of Neuroradiology since 2008.Her activity includes diagnostic neuroradiology, participating in multidisciplinary meetings on CNS tumors and orientation of residents.
