In 1768 Bach took over Telemann's post in Hamburg and often made use of his vocal music.The conference papers published here are devoted to the artistic and communicative mechanisms between Telemann's and C. P. E. Bach's generations, examining exchange and exclusion, and discussing continuity and paradigm change in musical and literary style using examples from church music, oratorios, songs and instrumental works.
