Also, this book discusses the philosophy of zakat, legal maxim related to zakat, recipients of zakat, the obligation of paying zakat, the concept of zakat compliance, the meaning and law of income zakat, and contemporary resolutions on zakat. Discussion on zakat management includes zakat management during the Prophet (s.a.w.), the caliphates, Umayyad, Abbasid and Ottoman as well as zakat management in Malaysia. Discussions include significant factors which influence the compliance behavior of income zakat in the State of Kedah, Malaysia.
