Mr Sanjay Agrawal is a Consultant Surgeon specialising in Bariatric (Obesity/Weight-Loss) Surgery at Homerton University Hospital in London and Honorary Senior Lecturer in the Centre for Digestive Diseases within Blizard Institute, Barts and The London School of Medicine and Dentistry, Queen Mary, University of London, London. Mr Agrawal is certified as 'Bariatric Surgeon of Excellence (BSOE)' by Surgical Review Corporation of USA. He is the only Weight-loss/Obesity Surgeon in the UK to achieve this designation. Mr Agrawal has the honour of being the First and Only Post-CCT Fellow in Bariatric and Upper GI Surgery awarded under the National Surgical Fellowship Scheme through the Royal College of Surgeons of England in partnership with the Surgical Specialist Associations for a year. Mr Agrawal has had extensive training in UK, Belgium, Japan & India and has an experience of over 500 laparoscopic bariatric procedures to date. In addition, he has undertaken more than 2000 general surgical procedures so far. Mr Agrawal has co-authored a book (Self Study Guide in Pediatrics, 1998, 1999 & 2002) along with Dr Chandrasen K. Sinha, who is also an editor of 'Handbook of Pediatric Surgery' published by Springer in 2010. Mr Agrawal is a Member of the panel for the National Selection Center in Specialty Trainee (ST3) for General Surgery as well as an Examiner for the final Year MBBS examination (OSCE) in Surgery at Barts and The London School of Medicine and Dentistry, Queen Mary, University of London. Mr Agrawal trains other surgeons in bariatric & laparoscopic surgery and has made numerous presentations at national and international meetings as well as multiple publications in peer-reviewed journals.
