Pressezitat
"Philip Mosley's translation of Guy Vaes' 'October Long Sunday' captures in clear, poetic prose the Magic Realism and psychological quest of Vaes' first novel. The translation, itself a work of literary value, faithfully renders the style of Vaes' questioning of identity and the psychological relationship between the individual and the world." (Frans C. Amelinckx, Editor-in-Chief of 'Etudes Francophones', University of Southwestern Louisiana)"Guy Vaes' 'Octobre long dimanche' won deserved praise and critical acclaim for its poetic exploration of alienation when it was published in 1956. Philip Mosley's excellent translation and brief bio-bibliographical essay will introduce readers to the richness of Belgian Francophone literature too often overlooked by scholars." (Jacqueline Van Baelen, Binghamton University)
