Further, this study is anticipated to determine the barriers which associated with political professionalization. Finally, it summarizes the findings and deficiency for implementation of professionalized political practice system, puts forward the recommendations and suggests criteria to advice for the professionalization of political practice for Sri Lankan context, which would provide scientific evidence for the importance of political professionalization in Sri Lanka.

Ukwatta, WijayanthaDr. Wijayantha Ukwatta is Senior Lecturer in Sri Lanka Foundation. He obtained his PhD in Sociology at Wuhan University, and MA in International Politics at Peking University in China and BA in History 1st class Hons from Sri Jayawardanepura. Dr. Ukwatta's current research interests focus on History, International Politics and Political Sociology.
