Jeanne Duus Johansen gained her medical degree from the University of Copenhagen in 1986 and obtained her DMSci from the same university for a thesis on allergy. She was appointed Director of The National Allergy Research Centre in Denmark in 2002 and became an Associate Professor at the University of Copenhagen in 2005. She was appointed Professor and Consultant in the Department of Dermatology, Gentofte Hospital, University of Copenhagen in 2007, with responsibility for 10-15 researchers in the field of contact dermatitis, for a national clinical database of contact allergy (collecting data from dermatological departments and private practice), and for the databases of the Department of Dermatology (containing data for more than 20,000 patients investigated since 1980). Dr. Johansen has been appointed an expert by the EU commission, OECD, and WHO on working parties relating to contact allergy, prediction, and risk assessment. From 2005 to 2010 she served as Chair of the Contact Dermatitis Research Group and she is also a member of the European Environmental Contact Dermatitis Research Group. Dr. Johansen is the author of # peer-reviewed scientific papers and many book chapters and the editor of several international textbooks.
