Professional testing of software is an essential task that requires a profound knowledge of testing techniques.
The International Software Testing Qualifications Board (ISTQB) has developed a universally accepted, international qualification scheme aimed at software and system testing professionals, and has created the syllabi and tests for the "Certified Tester." Today more than 150,000 people have taken the ISTQB tests.
With authors who are among the founders of the Certified Tester Syllabus, this thoroughly revised and updated 3rd Edition covers the "Foundations Level" (i.e., entry level) and teaches the most important methods of software testing. It is designed for self-study and provides the knowledge necessary to pass the Certified Tester - Foundations Level exam as defined by the ISTQB syllabus. Also in this new edition, technical terms have been precisely stated according to the revised and updated ISTQB glossary.
Topics covered:
- Fundamentals of Testing
- Testing and the Software Lifecycle
- Static and Dynamic Testing Techniques
- Test Management
- Test Tools
This book also covers more recent topics, such as test-first approach and risk-based testing.
Praise for the 2nd Edition of this book:
"If you are wanting to pursue taking the ISTQB test and you want to make sure that you have all of your bases covered, Software Testing Foundations will give you that head start. It will provide a solid foundation for your study of software testing".
T.Michael Testi, Blogcritics.org
"The most exellenct book is written in such a way that it does not presume previous knowledge of software quality assurance. Perhaps more importantly, this book is designed as a textbook and is meant for self-study."
