My book, The Wheat Beetle is a collection of 40 fairy tales where I applied therapeutic methods to address children's anxieties or misfortune in the frame of a fiction story. The stories illustrate how a child's deficiency becomes the road to its biggest strength. They show that the magic is not in fantasy creatures but in ourselves. The main hero may be a wheat beetle that loses his family, his adopting mother teaching him fly to soothe him, or a sister that slaps her brother's cheek and opens an old wound with a wood cracker forgotten there. The characters may also be looking a little strange - like a barking deer, a stuttering person, a glass tree, a woman dwarf or a hair sharing its day-to-day challenges. All of the tales are based on a true story and the main heroes find that the relief of their misery is not in meeting a magician, but in the change that they can provoke themselves. Or that the real happiness is not achieved by being like others but by being who you are.
