Using the palm oil industry as example, the research shows the features of "e;primitive or primary accumulation"e; in these places. From a historical perspective, the author exposes the imperialist character of the palm oil industry. She analyses the connections between policies makers, scientists and businessmen in the development of this agribusiness.
