Journal of Emergency Nursing

. She is the past recipient of the AJN Book Award in prehospital nursing.
Karen "Sue" Hoyt, PhD, RN, FNP-BC, CEN, FAEN, FAANP, FAAN,
is an emergency nurse practitioner (ENP) and works at St. Mary Medical Center in Long Beach, California. She is currently a clinical professor for the NP/DNP Programs at the Hahn School of Nursing and Health Science at the University of San Diego. Dr. Hoyt has several peer-reviewed books and publications on clinical practice, research, and management/leadership topics. In 2006, she established the first
