Autoren-Porträt von Wayward
Wayward is a London-based landscape, art and architecture practice – an award-winning collective of designers, artists and urban growers. Since 2006, Wayward has pioneered new methodologies in the creative use of underutilised land and meanwhile spaces, transforming derelict sites into large-scale, design-driven spaces that engage local communities and inspire international audiences.Wayward's critically-acclaimed projects include the Urban Physic Garden, the Union Street Urban Orchard, commissioned by the Architecture Foundation for the London Festival of Architecture, the Helsinki Plant Tram, created for the World Design Capital Helsinki 2012 and shortlisted for the D&AD Yellow Pencil, and the Queen's Walk Window Gardens, a micro-city of urban allotments for the Southbank Centre, visited by an estimated 8 million people.Improbable Botany has been edited by Gary Dalkin whose editorial projects include the highly acclaimed Dead Leaves by Andrew David Barker, as well as the definitive biography of multi-Oscar-winning composer John Barry - The Man With The Midas Touch, by Geoff Leonard, Pete Walker & Gareth Bramley. Gary is a former judge of The Arthur C. Clarke Award, a former editor of Vector, and has written extensively on genre for Amazing Stories, Interzone, SFX and many others.Jonathan Burton has designed beautiful wrap-around jacket and story artwork for Improbable Botany. Jonathan's laboured, life-like illustration has the aesthetic and conceptual edge to some of the classic American illustrators of the 20th Century and his ability to create accurate, melancholic characters has won him numerous awards over the years. Jonathan, who originates from the UK, now lives and works from France. His past and present clients include The Folio Society, Penguin Books, BAFTA, MONDO, Harper Collins, Random House, Nautilus Art Prints, New York Times, The Times, Plansponsor, Egmont Books, Milan Editions, New Scientist, Athens Film Festival, Care for the Wild, Royal Mail and
