NHL Hall of Famer. Brilliant coach. Beloved Montrealer. Le Gros Bill. The life and legacy of legendary hockey player Jean Bliveau is commemorated in this special In Memoriam ebook. Known as a statesman both on and off the ice, Bliveau was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1972. Other notable honours throughout his time on the ice include being awarded the Conn Smythe Trophy (1965), two Hart Memorial Trophies (1956 and 1964) and the Art Ross Memorial Trophy (1956). Like so many Canadians, Beliveaus hockey career began on a homemade rink in his backyard. He spent a number of years as a scoring leader in the minor league in Quebec before being signed by the Canadiens during the 1953-1954 season. As an eighteen-season veteran of the Montreal Canadiens, and with a record ten Stanley Cup wins, Jean Bliveau is remembered as one of the most talented centremen in hockey.
