The GRE is changing in August 2011!
What can you expect from the GRE revised General Test? Should you take the test now or wait? These questions and more are answered in this introduction to the new exam.
In the most sweeping changes to the test in its history, every aspect of the GRE General Test will change in 2011:
Longer test: With more sections and questions focused on reasoning and critical thinking, the test will now be longer than the current GRE.
New scoring rubric: With a 130--170 score scale in 1-point increments (vs. 200--800 in 10-point increments on the current GRE), it will be more challenging to differentiate your score from the competition.
New test experience: The Multi-Stage Test format, a new form of computer-based functionality, will allow users to move back and forth within a specific subject.
New and different question types: Every section will have new question types. In: More reading comprehension and data analysis questions; Out: Antonyms and analogies.
What does all of this mean for you and your graduate school aspirations? Kaplan will walk you through the changes and help you make decisions that will enable you to become a strong graduate school applicant when the time is right.
