Keeping this promise he becomes enamored with Lacey and the two quick form a bond. As Lacey has no relatives to take her in, Child Services is her only option. Wanting to keep Lacey out of the foster care system, Zeke takes Lacey into his home. Ezekiel soon learns that the fire was no accident and that there thugs looking to find her.

Bob Nieder is a native New Yorker, born and raised in The Bronx. Coming off his first two novels, Sense of a Hummingbird and Battersea Island, Bob is a fictional author presenting his second tale, Battersea Island. He attended Pace University in Manhattan, completing his major in Elementary Education. Having been employed in the Health Insurance and Healthcare industries for thirty-five years with ten years in the delivery/trucking business mixed in Bob brings a varied insight from the streets of New York to the corporate world to the back roads of America. Currently, he is retired residing on the West Coast of Central Florida with his wife Carmen and daughter Lyndsy.
