Changes. You will encounter many people, jobs and phases over your lifetime. These can be either changes that we make ourselves or are made as a result of someone else's decision that causes us to decide how we will adjust or ignore it. We often feel that we do not have a choice in these situations. You may have to move because of a job offer in another city. You need to work more with your child because they are struggling at school. You end your marriage after concluding that there is no solution to the problems you have. You may feel that you do not have a choice in these situations, but we do make the decisions necessary to pivot. We take the job or we decide that family stability is more important so we keep looking for a new position.

You are not sure how to commit to a new life but you know you are ready for a change. The word 'pivot" shouldn't scare you and you shouldn't look at change as being something foreign. Why not view change this way? It is actually in our nature to regularly make changes but we just don't always realize it.

If you have just made a significant change in your life or are starting to contemplate one, you are in the right place. Most of us are rather reluctant to embrace change as we all have different levels of comfort with change. If that sounds like you, it is understandable.

Change is person-dependent and can't be taught. Pivoting your life is a result of all of the things and events in your life that have brought you to this point. Changing your current lifestyle is easier said than done and you may be terrified at the thought.

We will tempt to open your eyes to change in this book. We will not teach you or change your mind, we will however try to give you a different perspective. We will tell you why some people struggle with change and why it can be hard but we will also point to the benefits that come with making a life pivot. We will also tell you when you should make a change and how to do it.
