Produktinformationen zu „Narrated Discomfort (ePub)“
This study analyzes the oral narratives of ten Filipino comfort women and their relations to historical experiences, myth and mythical expressions, and rhetorical vision. Guided by Ernest Bormann's symbolic convergence theory, Joseph Campbell's four functions of mythology, and G.S. Kirk's typology of functions of myth, the study aims to: 1) describe the content of the narratives of the comfort women; 2) identify the fantasy themes and fantasy types present therein; 3) determine common patterns that may represent a myth; and 4) determine the rhetorical vision of comfort women through their narratives.
