This novel is based on a true story. It really is! I'm not proud of it, not proud that I cheated on my wife. I offer no excuse.

At the time, I kept a secret diary. A couple years later, after the affair was finished, I re-discovered the diary. I re-read it and experienced a contradiction of emotions, mainly a mix of shame and desire. Dawn still had the ability to give me an immediate erection!

So, I re-wrote the diary, added in the dialogue, changed all the names and locations, and voilà – here is a fictionalized version of that diary.

2019 update: It's also, I confess, a rather sad indictment of the male psyche, an exploration of the vacuous chambers of a man's brain. To all women who read this, yes, this is how men think - and I can only apologise. #metoo
