Autoren-Porträt
Both editors are well-known and respected in their field. The list of contributors includes researchers of high standing.Professor Dr. Wolfgang Schattke recently retired from teaching theoretical physics at the Institut fuer Theoretische Physik und Astrophysik der Christian-Albrechts-Universität zu Kiel. His research concerns solid state physics including its many-body aspects. It focuses on the electronic properties of bulk and surface systems using ab-initio methods to quantitatively calculate spectroscopic data that are directly comparable with measurement.
Dr. Michel A. Van Hove is a Staff Scientist in the Materials Sciences Division and the Advanced Light Source of the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory in Berkeley, California, USA, and an Adjunct Professor in the Physics Department of the University of California in Davis, California, USA. His research interests focus on the structural, chemical, electronic and magnetic properties of surfaces, interfaces, and related nano-structures. The emphasis is on modelling experimental techniques to
extract such information from actual materials.
