Tectonic geomorphology is the study of the interplay betweentectonic and surface processes that shape the landscape in regionsof active deformation. Recent advances in the quantification ofrates and physical basis of tectonic and surface processes haverejuvenated the field of tectonic geomorphology. Modern tectonicgeomorphology is an exciting and highly integrative field whichutilizes techniques and data derived from studies of geomorphology,seismology, geochronology, structure, geodesy, and Quaternaryclimate change.
