Working as a critic, I began writing professionally in response to the film I’m Gonna Git You Sucka by Keenan Ivory Wayans. I felt that the film was a dirty trick to promote African American stereotypes while purporting to satirize them. It signaled a move since further exploited by artists such as Spike Lee and Quentin Tarantino in their likewise demeaning works, though very few critics seem to notice. My novels, The Ape is Dead! and Scott Free, feature African American protagonists, who defy stereotypes, and all varieties of racism, while pursuing their own unique spaces and creative outlets.
The Ape is Dead! has been published by Crimson Cloak Publishing and is currently available in both print and eBook form. An excerpt, The Ignored and The Despised, is the lead short story of Crimson Cloak's literary anthology Love Matters. Additional excerpts appear in Akashic Books, Hobart magazine, Crescendo City magazine, and great weather for MEDIA literary anthology.
Excerpts from my second novel, Scott Free, are featured in Moonshot magazine and Akashic Books.
I am also the author of the screenplay Love is Crazy, a Writer’s Digest award-winner.
I studied literature at Columbia University, and I currently lecture at several New York City universities.
I live in New York City.
Brian was born and raised in the literary-rich city of New Orleans. He moved to New York to attend the conservatory at Circle in the Square Theatre. Brian has worked as an actor in theatre and film and currently works as a writer in New York, where he lives with his wife, Caroline. The Piano Keys is Brian's second novel.
Janice Clark lives in the Pacific Northwest, where the morning fog drifting over the coastal hills could easily conceal dragons or any number of magical creatures. She and her brother share a home on partially wooded acreage, frequented by a variety of birds, deer, squirrels, rabbits, raccoons, the neighbor’s free-range chickens, and several cats who hunt

the area. She does not currently own (or is not owned by) a cat or any other four-footed being. Frequently-resident grandchildren and a large garden are sufficient to occupy any time not taken up by writing. Her published books include the Hall of Doors series, "Fairy Gold," "Molly the Bee-keeper's Daughter and other stories," and "A home Where God Lives" (co-authored with Anita Donihue). She also has contributed short stories to three Crimson Cloak anthologies: Glodwyn's Treasure Chest, Steps in Time, and Love Matters.
K S Collier grew up in Kenner, Louisiana. For the past fifteen years, she has resided in the Pensacola area with her husband and family. She loves getting together with friends, laughing(alot), walks on the beach with hot chocolate in the winter, and she loves to write. Her latest publication is a short story, ISLAND OF FEAR in the anthology LOVE MATTERS.

JR Ingrisano has been a professional business writer, journalist, and writing instructor for 40 years. He has published more than two thousand articles and six books on subjects ranging from money management to selling to faith. Returning to his first love, fiction, after years as a business writer, he has published a handful of short stories and written three novels, the first of which, Captain Jolly's Do Over, will be coming out fall 2015, published by Crimson Cloak Publishing. His second novel, Alicia in Ruins, has been accepted for release in 2016.
What took him so long to get back to fiction? In his own words: "I started my first never-completed novel when I was about 14. (Like anyone really knows anything at age 14. Actually, 50 years later, I’m still not sure I know anything … but I sure can fake it!) Well, after decades of getting educated, getting married a few times, and paying for the cost of marriage, divorce, and raising three kids by cranking out business articles and training programs for clients, I finally returned to my first love: Real writing — stories about life, relationships, freedom, that kind of good stuff."
JR grew up on the shores of Long Island’s Great South Bay, where he spent his summers – barefoot, tanned, and salt-crusted — clamming across the low-tide mud flats, fishing for snapper and flounder, netting blue claw crabs along the bulkheads and piers, and exploring the hundreds of inlets and coves tucked into the marshlands. Though he never quite got over this idyllic life -- and felt like a modern day Tom Sawyer, free of parental rules, just having fun -- he heard rumors that there was life west of the New Jersey Palisades, and "I and never looked back."
Over the years, he earned several college degrees, made and lost a few small fortunes as a business consultant and "markeeteer," and followed a bad case of wanderlust to a number of tropical islands. Today, he lives with his wife Susan and their dog Rascal (better known as Butter Brain) in Georgia on Mythun Mountain, not to be found on any map. Between them, they have four children and seven grandkids. His philosophy: If not now, when?
I am a final year engineering student who is still trying to figure out what to do with the rest of my life. Meanwhile, I enjoy writing stories, blogs and just about anything. I'd love to come up with something fancy and smart to make myself look appealing but I guess some of us just have to accept ourselves for who we are. :P
Esma Race was born and raised in the small Cheshire village of Weaverham. She has a great love for the natural world, and has always been able to sense the nature spirits which feature in her stories. She is very interested in natural healing, and is a practising reflexologist in the North of England, where she now lives with Geoff, her husband of 45 years. She is a mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and enjoys reading, walking, travelling, gardening, and English history.
She is the author of The Magic World of Bracken Lea.
Peter Jacob Streitz was born a hardscrabble hick from upstate New York. Raised a Holy Roman Catholic from the Empire State, his early life consisted of an indentureship with the local Archdiocese--as an alter boy--before lapsing into an All-American Athlete who counter-cultured his way towards a university degree in Alternative Education. Despite this impediment, he holistically morphed into a high-flying corporate executive within the American industrial complex.
With money, power and success so easily buying (if not love) adulation--but not the soulfulness of bohemia--he headed west from Boston for his one and only Lit class in San Francisco. A class whose shopworn professor--while wearily looking around the room at his youthfully expectant GAWs (Great American Writers)--somberly instructed his angelic assemblage that the only way one can become a true writer is to live the life of a writer.
Unexpectedly freed of the need or want of accreditation, acceptance, acknowledgment, or reward . . . this novelist, as a work in progress, immediately headed for all the dives and hellholes of Bagdad-by-the-Bay. There, with only the benefit, faith, and unshakeable love of his wife, plus, the assorted publicans, barflies, and philosophers who haunt these selfsame spheres--he not only saved his corporeal existence by stepping outside what's socially acceptable . . . but lived his life as a novel, a true adventure.
With this--and the autodidactic immersion into "others" prose--he then composed a tome of three hundred thousand words. It was read and commented upon by hoards of idiots and geniuses alike, before finding its birth mother of a publisher who courageously nursed it towards a public reality.
Now with a past life his present, he begins his future work with the authorial intrusion of an actual literary résumé. And how that plays out is the stuff of plots, climaxes, and dénouements with only one certainty . . . that his success, recognition, and worth in the literary world lies solely with the reader.
