Yma Orné Campbell is a native of Brooklyn, New York. She has been writing since she remembers as a child. She credits her love of writing to the stimulation she received as a 9th grader in her English class. Over the years her writing has developed into its own masterpiece, one that she is very proud of today. She has written stories, and poems, many of which she has shared with others. Yma received the Editor’s Choice Award from the International Library of Poetry in 2007. Yma submitted a poem that received recognition and was published in Howard Ely’s Anthology titled, “Forever Spoken.” Her love for poetry is evident in her very own collection of poems in her published book, “Literature for the Heart.”

Yma enjoys writing to help others. She wrote and published, “Tragedy and Loss: a Family Struggles to Move On.” She wrote this book as it was therapy for her while she was grieving the loss of her younger brother who she loss in a tragic car accident in 2006. Yma has shared her story with many that have experienced a loss and was credited by her fans to have helped those that she touched through her writing. She also went on to publish a story about family, sudden change, and acceptance in the dramatic story of “The Grandparents Club.” It is a story that has received many great reviews by her fans that she has been asked many times about writing a sequel to continue the story by taking the drama to the next level.
