Diplomado en la reconocida escuela Father Flanagan's Boys' Home, en Boys Town, Nebraska. Obtuvo la licenciatura en antropología por la Kansas State University. Actualmente es profesor adjunto de sociología en la Metropolitan Community College en Omaha. Es autor de dos novelas de suspense, Filth Ester (2001) y Sins of the Jaguar (2003) que han tenido una exelente acogida en Estados Unidos. Ha participado en el libro Historical Omaha publicado en 2003 por la Historical Publishing Network de San Antonio. Además de su trabajo como consultor, profesor y administrador en Boys Town, tiene una exitosa carrera como escritor y es colaborador de varios medios de comunicación.
Struble ha sido presidente del Gremio de Escritores de Nebraska, la asociación de escritores más antigua y prestigiosa del estado.
