'Laura Wilson's DI Stratton series is one of the bright spots of British crime fiction ... an intelligent, thought-provoking crime novel with a particularly poignant ending' Spectator. 'An excellent thought-provoking read' Literary Review. 'Laura Wilson skilfully marshals her cast of shifty characters against the backdrop of the Suez crisis, the crushing of the Hungarian rebellion by the Soviets and the threat of nuclear war ... a top-notch police procedural' Telegraph.
