The present research was conducted to understand the construals of relationships and sexuality, amongst adolescents living in institutional settings. The idea of adolescent is an intermediatory period in life starting at puberty and extending to some period in the life cycle unmarked by any conspicuous change but socially defined as "manhood" or "womanhood" (David Bakan). The age is characterised by presumptive emotional instability and informed nature of people. The ecological milieu experienced shapes their development. For adolescents in institutions, the ecological contexts differ greatly and hence their impact on the socio-emotional domain and sexuality is an important subject of research.
