He is Editor of Symbolic Childhood and author of The Commodification of Childhood as well as a number of articles and book chapters on consumer society and childhood. He serves as an Editor for the journal Childhood.JOHN WALL is Associate Professor of Religion and Childhood Studies at Rutgers University, USA. He is author of Ethics in Light of Childhood, Moral Creativity, and articles and chapters on ethics, Continental philosophy of religion, and children's rights. He is co-editor of Marriage, Health, and the Professions and Paul Ricoeur and Contemporary Moral Thought, and Chair of the Childhood Studies and Religion Consultation at the American Academy of Religion.
