Cerebral contusion is the most frequently encountered lesion following head injury.In a developing country like Bangladesh where road traffic accident is very common, a good number of patients are encountered in Dhaka Medical College Hospital with hemorrhagic contusion. Decompressive craniectomy beneficially addresses mass effect. It resulted in strong trend towards decrease likelihood of poor neurological outcome in patients with frontal hemorrhagic contusion than conservatively treated patients.This study was aimed to prove that decompressive craniectomy with durotomy has better outcome in patients with frontal hemorrhagic contusion than conservatively treated patients.
