The following is an unaffiliated microanalysis of current neuroprosthetic technologies. As disease such as chronic impairment becomes more pervasive, affecting disadvantaged communities, more translational research must be done in understanding the cost-effectiveness of treatment. This paper proposes a novel model by which multiple technologies may be combined in an effort to address the idea of cost-effective neuroprosthetic treatment for chronic impairment. Ultimately, this review of the literature has found that employing machine algorithms derived from electroencephalography tests, in tandem with a brain-computer interface, may allow for the development of a working neuroprosthesis, whereby the patient can regain locomotive function. In addition, 3D-Printing was utilized as an economical method of development for the physical apparatus, so that such a technology may be accessible and durable to all populations. Through cost analysis and scientific methodology, this paper has developed a technology with the ability to empower many who have suffered limb loss and related diseases.
