Autoren-Porträt von Herman Stewart
Herman's rise to prominence may have developed rapidly, but the people closest to him would tell you he was never a novice at infusing hope and direction to his family, friends and peers. Aspirations to be great started to materialise; the first of many adventures becoming a successful football player, with Great Britain's Under 15 football team, rubbing shoulders with stars like Manchester United's Paul Scholes. Further on, Herman's creative ability turned to music. The Pioneer of an urban music collective he shared the stage with international superstars like Busta Rhymes, Wu Tang Clan and Redman; gaining him international acclaim. He also appeared on the ever popular Radio 1 with Tim Westwood, Choice FM with 279 and Galaxy FM. He also starred in a music video aired on MTV. Always the entrepreneur, Herman was destined for success but not as he thought. On the verge of signing a contract for a Sony record label he had a change of heart. It might seem crazy but Herman knew this was not what he really wanted: the professional music career, football and dreams of stardom subsided; a new avenue was about to open and it was called Mentoring. Assessing the big picture he accepted the challenge to encourage others and has not looked back. From volunteer Mentor to the Lead Mentor of his city and now a consultant, author, trainer and speaker in high demand, addressing and speaking to Senior Leaders and similar professionals within the Public and Private sector and a revered role model among young people within his vast area of influence. Yet in the midst of all his achievements he retracts to remember the less fortunate and the road he could have taken, by visiting incarcerated offenders both young and old to share his story and why they should never give up. The once self-proclaimed perfectionist has turned the spotlight from himself on to others by using his gifts to successfully equip and develop the current generation. Passionate, and nonpretentious, Herman's life
