Klappentext zu „Ford, F: Call “
First published in 1910, A CALL goes right to the heart of Edwardian London, a world of evening gloves, satin opera cloaks, feather boas from scented cupboards. It is a vulnerable world, and Ford Madox Ford probes that vulnerability. For devastation can strike even in a drawing-room, with a telephone call. It can strike the man who means to be a good husband, a lovely woman who intends to be an impeccable wife. It is a game of passions, played with Ford's elegance and obsessional interest.Autoren-Porträt von Ford Madox Ford
