Asia is home to 60 per cent of the world's population, including the world's two most populous nations, China and India. The region's economic gains and rising middle class are accelerating demand for more consumer goods and a better quality of life. For further economic growth to be realised, the region will need a massive supply of additional energy, three- to five-fold 2020's amount by 2050. These changes create new business and investment opportunities for domestic companies and overseas participants.
He formerly led Asia utilities capital markets research at Bloomberg Intelligence, Bloomberg's independent research arm, where he also held team and regional research content leader roles. Before BI, he spent two and a half decades as a sell-side equity research analyst with leading global investment banks, including Bear Stearns, HSBC, and Merrill Lynch. He was ranked at various times in Institutional Investor, Greenwich, and Asiamoney. Joseph was also Group Director - Carbon Ventures, at leading pan-Asia energy firm CLP Holdings where he gained broad execution expertise in alternative energy investments and carbon markets.
He regularly speaks at industry conferences and appears in broadcast, digital and print media on Asia's energy digitization and gas, power and water utilities sectors. He speaks several Asian and European languages.
