Block has competed in many action sports events including skateboarding, snowboarding, motocross, and most notably rally racing. Ken Block co-founded DC Shoes with Damon Way in 1994. They started DC Shoes as a small company creating athletic shoes for skateboarders. Ken Block believed that as with other athletes, skateboarders needed special shoes to compete at high levels. Block and Way began to market these shoes and the business began to grow in the action sports world. In May 2004, DC Shoes was acquired by Quiksilver Inc.
