Michel Schneider, 1944 in Dammarie-les-Lys geboren, war als Spezialist für Makroökonomie am Rechnungshof tätig und wurde unter der Ägide von Jack Lang in die Abteilung Tanz und Musik des Kultusministerium geholt. Schneider ist selbst Psychoanalytiker und hat neben Fachliteratur mehrere Romane und Essays verfasst, unter anderem über Baudelaire, Schumann und Glenn Gould.
