The Editors: Louise Maurer teaches French language and literature in the School of Languages at the Australian National University. Her research interests are in cross disciplinary discourses about the image and cross cultural representations. Her work with images includes her own serigraphs and lithographs, as well as devising internet sites to facilitate the learning process. Roger Hillman teaches Film Studies and German Studies at the Australian National University, Canberra. His research spans European cultural studies; German literature; film and music; film and history. These are combined in the monograph Unsettling Scores: German Film, Music, and Ideology (2005).
