The determination for this simple research grew on the day i visited Chungking Mansion in Hong Kong.By talking to those shop owners whose ancestry drifted to HK from their Southeast Asian hometowns, and became permanent residence there,i found out the big discrepency of the ethnic minority i pictured in mind.By tracing back the trajectory,re-examining how those little dots knitted together,I wondered how mass media dominantly constructed perception to a community, especially to powerless minority (compare with the privilege of cacusian minority in HK).This research is to analyse how ethnic minority was represented in the mass media by adopting TV documentary series as cases and audience analysis.I am a minority by myself.Lastly,I would like to thank my interviewees, people in RTHK and professors in CUHK,it's your help make this became possible.Every individual is a minority.for Tung Cheung,my love forever
