This study was conducted on 100 Baladi goats in Egypt and 40 Shiba goats in Japan in a trial to improve their reproductive efficiency. Estrus was induced during the non-breeding season by using norgestomet and GnRH. Ovarian changes determined by daily transrectal ultrasound and its relationship with FSH, LH, estradiol-17beta, progesterone and inhibin were investigated. The results demonstrated that follicular waves occurred in goats. The results also suggested that the follicular waves' emergence was closely associated with increased secretion of FSH. Immunization against inhibin was used to develop a new method for superovulation. The results demonstrated that Immunization against inhibin increased FSH level and ovulation rate. Early pregnancy was diagnosed using ultrasound. biparietal diameter of the skull and thorax height can be measured as an indicator of gestational age.
