Er war als Wissenschaftlicher Direktor am Umweltbundesamt (UBA) sowie als Umweltstaatssekretär tätig.Markus Chr. Schulte von Drach, Jg. 1965, ist promovierter Biologe. Er arbeitet als Wissenschaftsredakteur bei sueddeutsche.de. Zuvor Journalist u. a. für die 'Süddeutsche Zeitung', die 'Berliner Zeitung', 'Neue Zürcher Zeitung', 'Die Welt'. Seit 2005 schreibt er auch Thriller.
