This diploma thesis describes the process of assessment,development and implementation of knowledge management at a globalautomotive supplier. The thesis is divided into a theoretical partand a practical part. The theoretical part starts with an economyview of the automotive industry and continues with an overview ofKM in general which intents to give the basic know how of thedifferent possibilities and approaches. The practical part and theproject - Knowledge Management at PMG - describe the project indetail. The different phases ofSetting up a KM Project,Assessment, and Development, which are already described in theoryare established and milestones accomplished. The final chaptersdescribe the different approaches and possibilities of KM at PMG. Amaster plan for professional implementation is presented and thedifferent approaches are analysed in the matter of developmenttime, resources, implementation time, efficiency and cost benefit.The aim if this thesis is to give an overview of theoretical KMapproaches and the adoption of these in the practical environmentof a global acting institution.
Autoren-Porträt von Wilhelm Schratz
Wilhelm Schratz studied during 2001 to 2006 business administration and economy at the University of Innsbruck, University of New Orleans (USA) and at the National University of Taipei in Taiwan. This final thesis was written during a praxis project. Currently Wilhelm Schratz works in the international export business of B-to-B and B-to-C goods.
