This study explores the relationship between ethics, pedagogy, and rhetoric through the relationshipbetween NPDA partnerships and how forensic coachesimpact these relationships. The main premise is thatdirectors of forensics and NPDA debaters are arguablyin a state of crisis. This book aims to heighten thelevel of intellectual discussion in this subfield aswell as add to both the quantity and quality ofresearch. I begin with an introduction and review ofthe relevant literature. Next, there is aquantitative study to assess how argumentativenessand verbal aggressiveness influence competitiverelational satisfaction within NPDA partnerships, from debaters. After the quantitative portion, Ireport a qualitative study with the coaches, andfinally, I explore the rhetorical and pedagogicalimpacts of the findings. I conclude that especiallyin forensics, there is no one model pedagogy orethic, just as there is no one way to garneringcompetitive success and further theoretically andhistorically grounded study must be conducted in thisarea in order to bolster the credibility of forensicliterature as well as to provide furtherunderstanding in this area.
