Autoren-Porträt von Dave Eggers
Dave Eggers, geboren 1971, wuchs in der Nähe von Chicago auf und besuchte die Universität von Illinois. Er gründete 1998 einen Verlag, in dem er seine Bücher veröffentlicht, ein vierteljährliches Literaturmagazin und eine Monatszeitschrift. 2012 wurde Dave Eggers mit dem "Albatros", dem Preis der "Grass-Stiftung.Eggers ist Gründer und Herausgeber von McSweeney's, einem unabhängigen Verlag mit Sitz in San Francisco. 2002 rief er ein gemeinnütziges Schreib- und Förderzentrum für Jugendliche ins Leben, "826 Valencia", das heute Ableger in mehreren amerikanischen Städten hat. Eggers stammt aus Chicago und lebt mit seiner Frau und seinen zwei Kindern in Nordkalifornien.
